With the passage of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) for the 2019-20 school year at last night's special board meeting, all meals including breakfast and lunch, will be free of charge for MUHSD students next year.
The Merced Union High School District is pleased to announce a new addition to the administrative staff. Effective July 1, Mrs. Jennifer Euker will be assuming the role of Principal at Buhach Colony High School.
Mrs. Euker comes from a long line of educators and has two children in education herself. A long-time Mercedian, she attended local schools from Charles Wright Elementary to Merced Community College. Over her teaching career, Mrs. Euker taught various grade levels beginning at the Weaver School District and later joining the staff at Merced High School.
The 2018-19 Classified Employee of the Year is IT Assistant Virginia Bryant. Virginia, who works out of the District Office, is retiring this summer and we are going to miss having her around. Thanks for everything, Virginia!
The 2018-19 Administrator of the Year is Jannette McAuley, an Associate Principal at Merced High School. Jannette feels that all sites within the district are part of a family working toward a shared goal of producing well-rounded students.
The 2018-19 Teacher of the Year is Buhach Colony High School Science Teacher Lea Smith. Mrs. Smith loves to provide her students with hands-on experiences to help them connect her lesson plans to the real world.
