On Saturday, October 18th, Atwater High School FCCLA proudly hosted the Region 6 FCCLA Fall Meeting, welcoming student leaders from across the Central Valley. Participants from Atwater, El Capitan, Golden Valley, and Merced High Schools joined peers from 14 other schools in the region for a dynamic day of leadership, collaboration, and learning.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national career and technical student organization that helps young people become leaders in their families, careers, and communities through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Members develop valuable skills in leadership, communication, career preparation, and community involvement.
More than 200 students attended the event, which was led by Region Officers representing Merced and El Capitan High Schools. The Region Officer Team includes MUHSD students Bella Gutierrez (MHS), Region President; Amberly Her (ECHS), First Vice President; Camilla Gutierrez (ECHS), Vice President of Competitive Events; and Jemimah Akpaloo (MHS), Vice President of Finance.
Throughout the day, members participated in engaging, student-led workshops and hands-on activities designed to strengthen leadership skills, foster teamwork, and build connections with other FCCLA members. The event also gave students the opportunity to explore the wide range of programs, competitions, and leadership experiences FCCLA offers.
